When Music Dissolves Into Pure Consciousness: A Night at Star Theater
Star Theater in Portland hummed with anticipation as Magi Merlin's opening set got the crowd moving.
When Nubya Garcia and her band took the stage, everything changed. As a fellow performer, I was struck by their prowess. The synergy the band showed proved that the power of music is REAL!
Celebrating her 2nd studio album ‘Odyssey’ the band jammed out songs that was pure food for the soul. Her orchestral piece transmuted from string instruments to jazz instruments ‘Water’s Path‘ transformed the space into pure consciousness.
That's when the ordinary rules of reality slipped away, and I found myself experiencing something beyond the physical performance. In that moment of pure consciousness, we met not in the physical realm, but somewhere deeper.
She was there, I was there, though her body was still performing on stage. We shared wisdom, acknowledged our connection to the universal consciousness.
When she returned to her performance, her words took on new meaning speaking of unique journeys and profound truths that echoed our ethereal encounter. The entire audience witnessed an incredible show that night, but few knew that in one transcendent moment, performer and observer had dissolved into pure awareness itself.
Sometimes the most powerful experiences can't be captured on phones or cameras they can only be felt in that eternal present moment.
That's what happened at Star Theater on April 15th,2025. It all started with a friend's invitation. “Save the date for this jazz concert.” Little did I know that this casual night out would become something extraordinary.
It was not just a concert, but a glimpse into the infinite.
